WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

"Occupations" refer to the everyday activities that people do as individuals, in families and with communities to occupy time and bring meaning and purpose to life. Occupations include things people need to, want to and are expected to do.

Children's occupations include playing, learning, and socializing. In occupational therapy I work with children to engage in these meaningful occupations. Some of the areas which can make it difficult for a child to participate in their occupations include:

  • Fine motor skills

  • Bilateral Coordination

  • Visual Motor Integration

  • Sensory Processing

  • Self Help Skills
