Sag Harbor Elementary’s Version of Paris Fashion Week
Sag Harbor Elementary School’s first grade students in Wendy Turbush and Dayna DiSunno’s
class recently held an ABC fashion show for their fellow schoolmates. The fashion show was
dedicated to Dayna DiSunno who is retiring this year, and included a welcome to Laura
Williams, who will be stepping into Mrs. DiSunno’s position.
To prepare for the fashion show, students decorated ponchos in Christy Spinaris’s art class. The
ponchos were measured to fit each student and decorated with photos to represent words that
started with the student’s assigned letter.
According to Turbush, the show encouraged students to channel their inner confidence and
personality as they rolled out the red carpet. “Thank you to the music department for the set up
and the custodial staff for the red carpet,” said Turbush.
The students were announced by different Crayola shades such as, Rafaella Mollica wearing
electric blue and representing vowels, Jeremih Simpson in laser lemon yellow representing the
letter J, and Ryker Vos Van Liempt in cerulean blue, sporting the letter R to name a few.
