Halloween Festivities at Sag Harbor Schools
Students from Sag Harbor Learning Center and Sag Harbor Elementary School celebrated
Halloween with the whole community on Oct. 31. At the Learning Center, prekindergarten
and kindergarten students dressed in colorful costumes for a parade around the building.
Families cheered the young scholars on as they shared their costumes and sang several
Halloween-themed songs. To work on their public speaking skills, each student took a turn
at the microphone to announce their costume.
After the Learning Center parade, families were encouraged to join the Sag Harbor
Elementary School students for their annual Main Street parade. The elementary students
followed a pirate float featuring the music department, including elementary music teacher
Deanna Locascio, who sang songs such as “Monster Mash,” as they made their way down
Main Street. Following the parade, the students were welcome to join the Sag Harbor
Pumpkin Trail, a tradition made possible by the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce to
encourage trick-or-treaters to explore the village and meet its community members.
