First Responders Visit Sag Harbor Prekindergarten Students

Prekindergarten students at the Sag Harbor Learning Center enjoyed a special visit from local firefighters and police officers on November 2, offering a fun, hands-on opportunity to learn more about their community's first responders.
Students got an up-close look at the vehicles first responders use every day, including a fire truck and a police cruiser, thanks to the Sag Harbor Fire Department and the Village of Sag Harbor Police Department. The engaging learning experience focused on community safety and support, featuring live demonstrations of various pieces of emergency equipment.
The firefighters and police officers introduced students to their work, answered questions about their roles in the community, and gave the children a closer look at the people and resources that help keep them safe. The visit offered a memorable learning opportunity and gave students a chance to connect with some of their community's everyday heroes.
Students also had the chance to meet a special guest: an emotional support dog named Gillies who quickly became a highlight of the visit. They learned how police officers and their canine partners help keep the Sag Harbor community safe.
